Health-ify your sugar

So today on Show Me The Sugar we discussed some ways to healthy up desserts. Smaller portions are a given. But more than eating less, we can actually inject some measure of health into dessert. One more reason to indulge!
Use applesauce as a sweetener and it can replace some of the oil as well.
Replace up to half of the flour with whole wheat flour.
Switch from canned to frozen fruit.
Switch from frozen to fresh and leave the peel on- more fiber!
Add more fruit to the recipe.
Dip fruit in good quality dark chocolate and it's practically a health food. Like I use it as a supplement!
